The monument to the martyrs of the Resistance

This astonishing pyramid was built in 1954 as a departmental memorial to the martyrs of the Resistance. Designed by architect Jean-Louis Humbaire, former chief architect of the Versailles national estate, it overlooks a crypt with a recumbent tomb and sculptures by Jean-Charles Lallement, known as Bacchus, a former pupil of Aristide Maillol and winner of the Grand Prix de Rome. Take a tour of this historic and symbolic site, usually closed to the public.

Meet in front of the monument, 96 avenue Jean-Jaurès, with your e-ticket.

Children under 10 accompanied by an adult taking part in the tour are free of charge.. Students, the unemployed, the disabled, children aged 11 to 16, residents of Nîmes and groups benefit from reduced rates.
Proof of entitlement will be required.
