The Abbey of Saint-Gilles

Discover the Abbatiale de Saint-Gilles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! A major Christian pilgrimage site during the Middle Ages, the Abbey church has preserved its beautifully sculpted 12th-century façade, the upper church and its reliquaries, and the monumental crypt housing the tomb of Saint Gilles. At the end of the guided tour, your steps will lead you into the former choir, where you'll discover its famous spiral staircase.
