Housed in the former 17th-century Episcopal palace, the museum tells the story of life in Nîmes since the late Middle Ages, through everyday objects and bourgeois interiors.

A place to discover local traditions and daily life in Nîmes over the centuries. It features reconstructed Nîmes interiors from the 18th to 19th centuries.

The city's textile industry has played a key role in its history, and the rooms showcase the famous Nîmes shawls exported throughout Europe in the 18th century. A blue room is devoted to Nîmes fabric, the famous "denim".
