To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, we're delving into local history during WW2. Since the defeat of June 17, 1940, France had been divided in 2, and despite the fact that Nîmes was in the Free Zone, the lives of its inhabitants would be affected. From November 1942, the south was occupied by the German army. Residents were subjected to drastic restrictions, shortages increased and the Resistance was set up to fight against collaborationist policies. We'll be looking at a number of themes, including daily life, collaboration and the Resistance, through the big names and events that took place during these 6 years of war.

Go to the Atelier du Patrimoine, 13 rue du Chapitre, with your e-ticket.
