Sitting on one of the terraces of this attractive place, near the crocodile or in the shade of a palm tree, you'll think of Cleopatra.

Here, the painter and sculptor Martial Raysse depicts the arms of Nîmes -the conquest of Egypt in 31 BC at the Battle of Actium by Octavian (later called Augustus). But here, the crocodile in the fountain is not chained to its palm tree.
